We come together for Sunday morning worship to shape and define what is of value and worth to us. Our services focus on topics of spiritual, social and current concerns. We come together at 10:30 am each Sunday to sing, meditate, and share our lives with one another. Our Worship is designed to meet the diversity of spiritual paths that are embraced within Unitarian Universalism. Sunday mornings offer a celebration of community, an intellectual challenge, and a deepening of the heart.

Sermon Topics –

Jan. 29: The Spiritual Gift of Hospitality: Tending our Communal Hearth: Rev. Kathleen Baughman
This service will focus on the spiritual practice of hospitality. It is an ages-old religious concept and practice that was imperative in ancient cultures because people’s very survival depended upon it.

Feb. 5: Salvation - Pastor Phares.
I don't feel saved. Saved from what, anyway? Saved to what? Universalism is a faith founded on the notion of Universal salvation. Does that mean anything to us today? Do I have to be a universalist to be a Unitarian Universalist? How has the notion of salvation changed over time?

Feb. 12: Love and Forgiveness in Relationships that Last a Lifetime - Dr. Douglas Kelley
Douglas Kelley has been at ASU since 1994.  He studies communication in interpersonal relationships, especially as it is related to marriage and forgiveness. Professor Kelley's research has focused on marital communication, including how couples negotiate privacy and relational expectations.

Feb. 19: The Dream Act; A Meeting of Minds - West Valley Readers.
Since last May, Ann Harper and Bill Dugan, along with Tom Lopez and his associate Per Schelde, have been developing this readers’ theater presentation. The Dream Act is a legislative bill that was first introduced in Congress in 2001, has undergone more than ten years of revisions, and still fails to pass.
Directly related to Immigration Law reform the script explores numerous points of view of this complex issue, including those of education, law enforcement, business, immigrants, UUs and most importantly, students.
This original piece will enjoy its premier performance at West Valley, will be available to other churches and organizations in the valley, and is under consideration as a program for General Assembly.

Feb 26: Spirituality - Pastor Phares
We continue our exploration of Foundations by considering a fundamental concept in religion - spirituality. Much used, oft abused as a descriptor of one's religious inclination, Spirituality is all the more crucial to understand. But, what in the world does it mean? Is "spiritual, but not religious" accurate or a cop out? Can atheists be spiritual? What about humanists? Unseen, immeasurable. Real? If so, will it help us and the world? If so, how do we cultivate spirituality?
