“When are Circle Suppers going to start again?” is a frequently overheard question.

 

The truth of the matter is that it’s incredibly difficult to recruit host homes as early as September; people simply haven’t settled into their fall routines yet. For that reason you will recall, last year we kicked off the “cool season” with a church-wide potluck in September as a part of the annual Ingathering. Due to a conflict in schedules this year, the Ingathering Potluck will be Saturday evening, September 17, 6 p.m. in the sanctuary. Questions should be directed to Ann Harper (see below).

 

Beginning October 8, we will resume our Circle Supper cycle; (Circle Suppers are always the second Saturday of the month). A sign-up list for hosts will be circulated in church early this month.

 

As a host, the coordinator will circulate a sign-up list for guests to your home and will get it to you by the Wednesday preceding your event. You then contact the people on the list (they might need directions to your home), tell them what you’re planning as the main dish (or maybe a guest would want to prepare the main dish) and advise them what to bring. After that get together, enjoy a meal and one another’s company.
