Text Box: Text Box: On My Mind—Cont’d
Text Box: I don't mean to be a reclusive bookworm, obsessed with my own personal learning the way an anchorite monk alone in the wilderness remains obsessed with his own personal salvation, for my learning comes in many forms--not just through books and movies and plays and hands-on practice of manual skills. I know that learning comes also from interacting with other people. This last is undoubtedly the best.
But I have so much more to learn. And I deceive myself with the vain belief that until my learning is complete I am safe from the reaper. I began I poem several years ago. It begins, but then does not end: "To know so little and to want so much / There are lessons yet to be learned in the dusk . . ."

Blessings to all,
John

Long Range Planning is the next thing on my mind.

At the May Congregational Meeting the quorum of 27 people voted to have the church people become a Committee of the Whole for this purpose.

We had 4 Focus Group Meetings. The total attendance was 31. The results are posted on the East wall of the Sanctuary. Please look at it and become familiar with the many wishes for the future.

Our next group of meetings will be in September and will be based on these desires. I am waiting until September, expecting more people will be around to attend.
