But when it comes to capital punishment, the discussion focuses on the wrong issue. The issue isn't abolition or the exoneration of innocent death row inmates, it's about revenge, or deterrent. Can we as a nation allow the divine concepts of forgiveness and redemption to overcome the human need for revenge, punishment, or retribution. You can't change a mind unless you change a heart.
