Text Box: Text Box: Text Box: This doubling of my hours should allow me to get to many of the tasks that have gone by the wayside. First and foremost, I want to be available for pastoral care, in the form of home and hospital visits for members of the congregation who are sick or in crisis. Second, I want to meet everybody in our directory of members and friends of the church. Preferably I will meet with everyone at their invitation in their own homes. I hope to catch a few meals out of all this--one of the few perks of my position. Third, I want to be able to offer adult religious education classes; and fourth, I want to be able to attend some of the social functions of the church. The fifth and last item on my "to do" list is to attend some committee meetings, not as an advisor but as a participant in the inner workings of the church.
I am looking forward to a partnership model of ministry, and I am excited about the prospect of getting more involved in the life of the church and hopefully in the lives of its members.
With hopes for a deepening sense of community for all,
Yours in faith,
        The Reverend John LeRoy
