It’s the end of our Sunday school year, and what a year this has been for us! We began the year with a camping trip. (Remember our snake and the tent that wouldn’t stay up?) And then there was the stinky Treasure Box and the Halloween party, the Doves of Peace and the Tropical Forest and the Universal Human Rights we hung on the curtain. We made (and ate) Christmas trees and Valentine cupcakes. We planted Seeds and built Volcanoes and made Bunny Baskets and hunted for Easter Eggs and decorated ramadas for our church picnic on a very windy day. We listened to stories and learned about Values and Biomes and Buddhism. Many, many thanks to all the teachers and other adults who made this all possible.

The Sunday school year is over for now, but we will begin again in September. Meanwhile, we’ll be having a family potluck and swimming party mid-summer and plan to start next year off with another camping trip. Our two themes next year will be Stories about God (Fledgling Club) and Creation, the Universe and Evolution (Older Grade School Kids). We will also be starting a Families Club with monthly events on the theme of Food as Prayer. Please call me if you want to volunteer or learn more about summer activities or next year’s program.
